Outside of work, Cindy enjoys diving into podcasts such as .NET Rocks and Practical AI, with interests that range from .NET and artificial intelligence to biohacking, systems thinking, and leadership through influence. She often reflects on big-picture themes like resilience as an engineer, diversity in tech, and balancing scalability, reliability, and maintainability in software systems.

Currently based in Lincoln, Nebraska, Cindy spends her personal time with her 17-year-old son and their giant white Great Pyrenees. She also enjoys caring for a historic home, cooking, reading, and getting outside to appreciate the wonders of nature.
Her journey has taken her across many places. As a child, she lived in Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois, before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas as a teenager. She later earned her B.S.E.E. from the University of Houston and began her career at Compaq Computer Corporation. Before Compaq merged with Hewlett-Packard, she moved to Colorado, where she worked with a NASA contractor developing software for unmanned interplanetary spacecraft and later for Jeppesen, a Boeing subsidiary.

Since 2007, Cindy has called Lincoln home. There, she has contributed her skills at Nebraska Book Company, helped Spreetail grow into a billion-dollar e-commerce company, and worked as a consultant before moving into API engineering at Medical Solutions. Today, she is part of a company just beyond the startup stage, where she helps drive Scrum practices and has built an 8+ component .NET system prototype with a focus on security.

Cindy enjoys the balance of small-city life with the flexibility of remote work, combining professional impact with personal fulfillment.
